LeEco is planning to release 400000 electric vehicles per year!
The Chinese rival Tesla Motors announced the ambitious plans on building a factory in Huzhou (Zhejiang province). It will release the electric car LeSee and its key components— batteries and electric motors.
Initially LeEco, inexperienced in car construction, was going to use the facilities of other companies for producing LeSee. It was negotiating with the large Chinese auto concerns BAIC and GAC, but didn’t manage to agree on beneficial terms. Therefore, LeEco decided to do everything itself , including car batteries and electric motors. The member of a company even claimed to have 833 patents in the area of electric vehicles, and the model LeSee will be equipped at the level of the best analogs, i.e. Tesla Model S (as the other ones are not available yet).
Initially a capacity of a plant LeEco will be 200000 cars per year, and in the long run increase to 400000 vehicles per year.
It is still unknown, when the production of LeSee electric cars starts. It depends largely on the bureaucratic adjustments of the project with the Chinese government (that can last longer than the production itself).
